NO to OSAP changes, YES to fairer wages!

Fight for $15 and Fairness UofT says NO to OSAP changes, YES to fairer wages! Join us at our action to call for decent work on campus, a reversal of OSAP cuts, and better funding for post-secondary education! Years of cuts have decimated Ontario’s universities, causing tuition rises, larger class-sizes, and more precarious, underpaid work for the graduate students and contract faculty onto whom the university pushes most of the labour necessary to keep schools operational. Now the Ford government wants to further reduce post-secondary funding, attack workers and unions on campus, and make university even more inaccessible for lower-income students through cuts to grants. Enough is enough! Now is the time to push back.

Come out on July 3rd to demand stronger labour protections and a truly public post-secondary education system! We’ll be petitioning for free tuition, better pay for campus workers, and increased funding to post-secondary institutions. We’ll also have a wall of paper that will display the weight of the economic burden of paying UofT tuition fees and living in Toronto while facing cuts to our wages and OSAP grants. Years of cuts have made life increasingly unaffordable for students across Ontario, and the Ford government only wants to make it worse. Together, we can build a student and labour movement that can meaningfully resist Ford’s austerity agenda!
