Our working lives are an essential contributor to what keeps us healthy and what makes us sick; income inequality, one's rights at work (including access to paid sick days and regularity in scheduling) and the conditions under which one works can undermine one's mental and physical health. In this discussion group, we'll be discussing how labour inequalities interact with other social determinants of health to generate "health inequalities" in our society.
This is the second meeting of the Decent Work Discussion Group; we’ll be meeting on the 4th Monday of every month to discuss issues relating to labour, decolonization, anti-capitalism, social justice, and the environment. The meeting will be introduced by a short (5 minute) topic overview, followed by open discussion.
