Last week a 5th temp agency worker was killed at Fiera Foods, a food processing plant in Toronto. We’re filled with heartbreak and rage, because we know this death could have been prevented.
As long as companies are not held liable for the safety of the temp agency workers they hire, temp work will continue to be a death trap. Premier Ford can close this loophole with the stroke of a pen, but we need to make him do it!
On Wednesday, join us to demand urgent action from the Ford government and put Fiera on notice! Together with local community groups and labour unions, we will hold a public rally outside the factory where the 57 year-old father of two died.
Meet us on Wednesday, October 2nd, at 3:00 PM at 50 Marmora Street to say Fiera Foods workers are not alone.
