Our wages and working conditions are some of the most important social determinants of health. As members of the public health and medical community, it’s important that we understand how our labour conditions are shaped and, in turn, affect our health. What can we do when our labour protections are threatened under the Ford government? How can we support precariously employed workers and other marginalized communities, including migrant workers, whose health is harmed due to labour insecurity?

Join the Decent Work and Health Network, the Fight for $15 & Fairness, and the Dalla Lana School of Public Health Students' Association for a labour advocacy symposium that addresses these questions: “Fighting for Labour Rights as Public Health advocates”. The event will feature speakers who are advocates in the health and migrant justice communities. We will also have a hands-on “Know Your Rights” workshop leaving you with detailed knowledge on the labour laws that shape Ontarians’ health.
