Last year, Justin Trudeau and the federal government promised to deliver "a federal minimum wage of at least $15 per hour, starting in 2020 and rising with inflation, with provisions to ensure that where provincial or territorial minimum wages are higher, that wage will prevail."
With only a few weeks left in 2020, time is running out. We need action NOW!
Between November 23-27, we are asking people in Simcoe County to find some time to call:
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau – 613 992 4211
Labour Minister Filomena Tassi – 905 529 5435
A $15 an hour minimum wage will not only help federally-regulated workers, but will also put pressure on provincial governments to raise their own minimum wages.
We don’t have time to waste. We need action NOW! Please take a few minutes – using the following script – to contact Prime Minister Trudeau and Labour Minister Tassi.

Hello, my name is _______. I live in _______.
I am calling to urge you to implement the promise to enact, in 2020, a federal minimum wage of at least $15 / hour, indexed to inflation. Thousands of workers are counting on you to do the right thing. This matter is urgent and time is running out. Please let me know when I can expect you to keep this promise.
I am also asking your government to grant full immigration status to all migrant and undocumented workers. They are essential to our economy and our well-being. Like all of us, they need full protections under the law. The simplest way to do this is through full immigration status.
I look forward to seeing this much-needed action in the coming weeks.
Thank you
