Join educators, the Barrie & District Labour Council and communities on Monday, October 15 and take action for the $15 minimum wage, and all of our new decent work laws!

The $15 minimum wage and decent work legislation, such as paid sick days, equal pay rules and laws to make it easier to join a union, are all up for grabs. The minimum wage increase is currently scheduled to come into effect on January 1, 2019. Now more than ever, we need to continue to campaign to keep it from the hands of the big business lobby.

As educators, we know how important decent work is to our students and their parents. Paid sick days are needed to keep our students healthy. Decent work helps the parents of our students take time with their kids to learn. Our own students that work part-time need good jobs too to keep them healthy and ready to learn.

PRECARIOUS WORK HURTS US ALL

We need to send a strong message to Doug Ford and Minister Jim Wilson, who sits on the Bill 148 committee reviewing these laws, that he is either going to side with big business or THE PEOPLE. We are the people.

Join us at Minister Jim Wilson's Alliston constituency office on Monday, October 15 at 4:15 pm!
